For a third consecutive year, fans of beer and music can indulge both for a great cause. The Heorot Pub and Draught House will host Rocktoberfest, a seasonal celebration of music, beer and food starting at 5 pm, Saturday, October 24 at the adjacent Valhalla Hall on 219 S. Walnut Street.

Proceeds from admissions will benefit the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Center Fund which supports free cancer screenings in the community.

This year’s Rocktoberfest will feature a wide selection of locally-brewed beers including both seasonal and event-exclusive offerings from Wolves’ Head Brewing and New Corner Brewing, both based here in Muncie. Other featured Hoosier breweries include Noble Order Brewing of Richmond and Upland Brewing of Bloomington.

For aficionados of blues-based rock, music will be provided by the Tomkats, Pedal Tones and legendary local blues artist Governor Davis.

Admission is $6 for adults age 21 and older, and tickets are available the day of the event or in advance at the Heorot Pub and Draught House. Admission ticket does not include food or drink.

The Heorot Pub and Draught House has been a fixture of downtown Muncie since 1995. Specializing in craftsman-produced and locally-brewed beers and ales, it has been recognized as one of the “Top 100 Beer Bars in America” by Draft magazine five consecutive years.
