Muncie, IN—The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie invites you to participate in the 3rd annual Roy C. Buley Memorial Golf Outing. Gather your team of four and join us at Maplewood Golf Course, June 10, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. for 18 holes of golf, food, drinks, games, and prizes. All of the proceeds of this event go directly to the creation of the Junior Golf Program, presented by First Tee. This is the 3rd year for the Roy C. Buley Memorial Golf Outing.

The Junior Golf Program with First Tee will help students at all the clubs learn and understand the game of golf. “Golf is the only sport where players call fouls on themselves. It is a sport that combines ethics, gamesmanship, physical fitness, and a positive attitude. These are all things that we, at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie try to instill in all of our members”, says Newman. The program will help younger children understand the game and ethics, while the older children will learn on the course.

In January of this year, the Roy C. Buley Community Center officially completed merger with the Boys & Girls Club of Muncie. Roy C. Buley was a 1935 graduate of Muncie Central High School who pioneered the fight against racism and segregation in Muncie. “It’s important to all of us, at the Clubs, to keep the name of Roy C. Buley alive in our community”, explained Jason Newman, the CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Muncie. Therefore, to honor the legacy of Mr. Buley, Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie thought it vital to continue to host the annual golf outing.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie hopes to raise $5,000 to support the program.

You can sign up your team by visiting bgcmuncie.org or calling Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie at (765) 282-4461. Registrations are due on June 4.

Sponsorships, starting at $25, are available if you are unable to join us for the day. To sign up for a sponsorship or to donate a door prize, contact Amy Gibson at agibson@bgcmunice.org.

Founded in 1933, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie is an active community partner, collaborating with entities across the city. For other questions, please contact Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie at (765) 282-4461 ext. 103 or bgcmuncie.org.
