Five Delaware County Non-Profits Receive $69K from Harry and Janet Kitselman Fund

Muncie, Indiana. – The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc. has awarded $69,208 in grants to five non-profit organizations from the Harry and Janet Kitselman Fund.

Harry and Janet Kitselman were residents and civic leaders in the Muncie community.  Per Mr. and Mrs. Kitselman’s wishes, a fund was created to administer and distribute funds for the good of the people of Muncie, Indiana, and the surrounding community with fine arts, recreation, children, and the history of East Central Indiana as the areas of focus. The following organizations were recipients of a Harry and Janet Kitselman Fund Grant this year:

Delaware County Historical Society received $5,000 to support the commission of the Hoosier artist, Bill Wolfe, to complete the mold of the bronze statue of Hurley C. Goodall.

Ivy Tech Foundation received $25,000 to provide vouchers to students to cover childcare expenses during classes helping to eliminate that barrier and allowing students to successfully continue their education.

IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Foundation received $2,500 to provide vouchers for the laundry voucher program distributed at Muncie Central High School.

Muncie Community Schools received $25,000 to provide general support to the school system and its partnership with Ball State University.

YMCA of Muncie received $11,708 to provide scholarships for students attending before and after school care programs.
