New Digital Arts Studio To Feature Workshop By Disney Animator

Muncie, IN—Cornerstone Center for the Arts is excited to announce the grand opening of the Muncie Altrusa Foundation Beulah Frogge Digital Arts Studio on Saturday, August 24 with a stop motion animation workshop led by Disney artist and animator Brad Condie.  This workshop is free and open to the public, but does require pre-registration.

The grand opening will offer two 2 hour stop-motion animation workshops focusing on the art and principles of animation as well as how to animate a character with clay and other materials using a digital tablet and animation software.  All attendees will participate in animating and making a short film.

On Saturday, August 24, two workshops are available for registrations.

  • Age 8-11 years old: Workshop 1:00-3:00 pm
  • Age 12-15 years old: Workshop 3:30-5:30 pm

A 12 week course in stop motion animation will be offer in Cornerstone’s fall class session beginning in September.  Please visit cornerstonearts.org for times and days of fall classes and for registration. Registration for fall classes will begin in August.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts is thrilled to feature instructor Brad Condie, Assistant Professor of Animation at Ball State University where he teaches traditional 2D animation, character design, experimental animation, and 3D computer animation.  Brad Condie hasworked in the filmmaking and animation industry for 17+ years. He worked as an artist on six feature length animated films for Walt Disney Feature Animation Studios, including Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, Pocahontas, Brother Bear, Atlantis, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He has also worked as an in-game character animator for EA Games on The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 game franchise and He recently directed and animated the award winning short film, A Drawing.

The grant was made possible through a bequest that Muncie Altrusa Foundation received from longtime Altrusa International Club of Muncie member and Muncie Altrusa Foundation board member, Beulah Frogge. Beulah left explicit instructions for the gift to be used promptly to make an impact to a deserving local organization. Cornerstone Center for the Arts was one of the 10 local nonprofit organizations invited to apply.  Cornerstone plans to use this grant to develop and implement a new digital arts program that includes graphic design, Photoshop, animation, and digital painting. Classes in the new digital arts program will be available to students of all ages across the community.
