Community Foundation Grants Additional $13,000 in COVID-19 Response Funding

Muncie, IN— The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc. awarded an additional $13,000 to eight non-profit organizations to support response efforts to the COVID-19 crisis. 

Community Foundation staff continue to connect with and listen to the plans, challenges, and needs of a variety of vital community organizations across Delaware County. Decisions for this third round of response funding were made to come along side these vital community organizations with identified immediate needs related to the Coronavirus Pandemic. This is the third round of emergency response support totaling $47,000 since March 23. 

Emergency Response Grants in the amounts of $1,000 or $2,000 have been awarded to the following organizations: 

Bridges Community Services 

Delaware County Emergency Management 

Inside Out Community Development 

Ivy Tech Community College 

KidsPeace 

Ross Community Center 

Whitely Community Council 

YWCA Central Indiana 

Emergency Response Grants are funded through The Unrestricted Fund of The Community Foundation. Because of our history of unrestricted donor support, we are able to flexibly respond to unexpected and changing needs in the community. The Community Foundation will continue to assess our community’s needs and respond appropriately. Community members may support Emergency Response Grants with a gift to The Unrestricted Fund of The Community Foundation online at cfmdin.org or by mail. All gifts made to The Unrestricted Fund through June 30 will be available for immediate grantmaking. 

The Community Foundation can award grants to charitable organizations and units of government. Grants to individuals are not permitted. Non-profit organizations may apply for an Emergency Response Grant for needs related to the impact of COVID-19 by utilizing an online application accessible from the Foundation’s website at cfmdin.org/2020-covid-19.
