MUNCIE, Ind. – Ready to learn a new skill, get out in the community or explore different fields? Maker Mondays is the place for you! Meet your friends and family at Madjax to explore new activities through our programmed events. From bookbinding to beer brewing, there are new and exciting things to explore.

“We are very excited about growing the diversity of opportunities for people to explore new trades, learn a new skill, and share their maker knowledge and creations with the community,” said Future of Work director, Kyra Zylstra. “Each Monday we are featuring a different Madjax Maker through our workshop series. For only $5 you can participate in really fun and interesting activities to explore a new skill or hobby.”

Upcoming sessions include Daddy and Daughter Hair on Nov. 8 and bookbinding on Nov. 15. At the Daddy and Daughter Hair session, parents and guardians and their child will practice three new hairstyles with our Madjax Salon Suites hair professionals. During the bookbinding session, participants will learn the skills behind bookbinding and letterpress with the Ball State-led Book Arts Collaborative. The Maker Mondays series is jointly hosted by Madjax and the Future of Work throughout the month of November. Space is available but limited, sign up for the small group workshops now at https://madjax.org/makermondays.

In addition to Maker Mondays, Madjax is a partner of the DWNTWN  First Thursdays Arts Walk and will also be hosting a Small Business Saturday Maker Expo on Saturday, November 27.

“The First Thursday Arts Walk and Small Business Saturday Maker Expo will feature a diverse group of Artists and Makers selling unique and skillfully made gifts,” said Madjax Building and Operations Director Tina Black. “During the Maker Expo, there will also be featured Artists with DIY mini-workshops where you can participate in making your own gift.”

Vendor space is still available for Artists and Makers who would like to reserve a vendor table or host a DIY mini-maker session. This is a great opportunity to grow your audience and share your creations and skills. Check our Facebook page for more information on vendor sign up @MadjaxMuncie.
