MUNCIE, Ind.—Construction has begun downtown on the site of the former Delaware County Courts and Justice center. The renovated building, when completed, will include 148 indoor parking spots and 15 luxury condos. Delaware County turned the building over to the City of Muncie for development after moving the courts to their new location on the southside of Muncie. Justice Parking and Condominiums LLC is the owner and developer of the project.

The developer indicated that each condo will range in size from 1500 to 4000 square feet. “We are planning a unique, luxurious location for those who want to live, work, and play downtown” said Matt Jennings one of the developers. The condos will vary in look and feel, with some units being a two floor design. Each condo will have indoor parking using the 2nd floor ramp to drive directly to their unit.

“I am pleased to take this downtown block that has been government owned for decades and see it address several issues for Muncie,” said Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour.  “The new parking locations will help solve the parking issues at City Hall. The developers and future condo owners will pay property taxes which will help the City’s General Fund and our Muncie Schools. Plus the Justice Lofts will provide some new housing options for current and future Muncie residents.”

The new $3.4 million development has an anticipated completion date of 1/31/23 according to the developer.
