MUNCIE, Ind.—The YMCA of Muncie exceeded their annual campaign fundraising goal providing access to programs and opportunities to all in our community.
Campaign Co-Chairs, Mark Foerster and Chris Walker, along with 70 volunteers, implemented a grass roots campaign that began in February with an in-person launch event and cumulatively raised over $173,000.
Chris Walker, Campaign Co-Chair and Principal at Muncie Central High School, had this to say about the campaign, “The success of the annual campaign is a direct reflection of the value our community places on the YMCA. The Y is making our community better and everyone who supported the annual campaign truly believes this to be true. Thank you so much to everyone who made this year’s annual campaign a huge success!”
The Annual Campaign is the YMCA’s fundraising effort providing financial assistance and removing barriers for participation in YMCA programs. Support of the campaign comes from local businesses and individuals. Investing in the Y provides funding and access to opportunities like LiveSTRONG @ the YMCA, a cancer survivorship program, outdoor education at Camp Crosley, nature preschool and early childhood education at Mitchell Early Childhood and Family Center. Additionally, it aids in the Y’s anti-hunger efforts.

The support shown by everyone for this year’s annual campaign confirms the mission of the YMCA is an important aspect to move Delaware County forward.
