Muncie, IN – The month of September is a busy one for the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie. The Center will be hosting three conventions in addition to the usual heavy September schedule of meetings, weddings, social, and not-for-profit events. New to Muncie is the Indiana State Building and Construction Trades Council here for their annual conference September 14 – 16, followed by the Indiana Society for Respiratory Care hosting their 42nd annual convention on September 21 – 23, and to wrap up the month, the Association of Indiana Solid Waste Management Districts will hold their annual conference September 28 – 29. September is also the month of the annual, local tradition, the Altrusa Style Show.

The conventions are expected to bring in approximately 500 people from all over Indiana, to the Muncie community. The new, adjacent, Courtyard by Marriott hotel will host many of the attendees from these events with overflow going to other area hotels.

“On behalf of the entire city, we welcome the Indiana State Building and Construction Trades Council, the Indiana Society for Respiratory Care and the Association of Indiana Solid Waste Management Districts to the Horizon Convention Center and the City of Muncie,” said Joann McKinney, president/CEO of Horizon Convention Center. “We have a great, walkable, hospitality district for visitors to our DWNTWN that is ready to host these events. We look forward to a great month of convention and visitor activity throughout our community.”

The Horizon Convention Center is host to local, regional, national, and international guests and events which have a significant economic impact on Muncie and Delaware County.
