Muncie, INAmerica’s Hometown Band presents its holiday season concert for 2016 on Saturday, 5:30 pm, December 17, at the Emens Auditorium in Muncie, on the Ball State University campus at 1800 W. Riverside Avenue. It’s a Holiday outing not to be missed, and it’s also a chance to support and show your appreciation for the very fine hometown musicians that make up the band and who enrich the Muncie community with many free concerts throughout the year. Tickets for this band date are $10 adult, $8 seniors, children free, available at Emens box office. Free parking at Emens and Sursa Parking structures nearby.

This sparkling event delivers a “Holiday Spirit Tune-up” to every audience member. The program schedule is set to feature the band in a variety of groups: full concert band, the Big Band jazz band, the Clarinet Choir, and the East Central Indiana Flute Choir. AHB Vocalist Diana Guinn and AHB xylophonist David Robbins are soloists for the evening. And the AHB Board president Dr. Charles Routh conducts the full band in a new holiday medley called Christmas Spectacular.

Special guest performers this year are the members of Muncie’s Westview Elementary School Choir and its director Tiffany Ingles. Also, guest narrator John Emert recites the best-loved Clement Moore poem for the piece, The Night Before Christmas.

The non-profit America’s Hometown Band is Muncie’s municipal band, and is sponsored in part by the City of Muncie, and by the generosity of donors large and small – the patrons and musicians of the band, Ball State University, Emens Auditorium, Muncie Star Press, Muncie Music Center, and Muncie Power Products. Music directors are Roger McConnell, Phil Cooley, and Will Frazier. Follow the band on Facebook and at www.AmHometownband.org.
