MUNCIE, IN –Dr. Peter Voss has been named medical director of surgical specialties for IU Health Ball Memorial Physicians.

“Dr. Voss has been a pillar of the medical community in East Central Indiana for his entire career,” said Jeff Bird MD, chief medical officer, chief operating officer IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. “We are thrilled to be able to leverage his passion and enthusiasm for his role as a physician leader to better serve our patients.”

Dr. Peter Voss is an obstetrician/gynecologist with Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Voss Center for Women, specializing in minimally invasive surgery, including operative laparoscopy, DaVinci robotic surgery, gynecology and high-risk obstetrics. He has been on medical staff at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital since 1991.

“It is a privilege to have been chosen for this role,” Voss said. “Becoming the surgical specialties medical director is an extension of my deep commitment to healthcare in this community. I look forward to working alongside all of our highly skilled surgeons in this capacity.”

Dr. Voss also practices obstetrics & gynecology at Jay County Hospital Medical Pavilion. He has been on medical staff at Jay County Hospital since 1993, where he performs gynecological surgeries.

Dr. Voss earned his bachelor’s degree from Brown University and graduated with his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Vincents Hospital. He is also a trained DaVinci surgeon. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, American Medical Association, Indiana State Medical Association, Delaware-Blackford County Medical Society and International Society of Bone Densitometry.
