Muncie, IN—Cornerstone’s spring class session is concluding. Summer classes begin in June but there are still many opportunities to stay involved with workshops during the month of May. May’s calendar consists of Monthly Art Club, Monthly Dance Club, Pints & Paints, Coffee & Paints

Join Cornerstone Center for the Arts visual arts instructor, Lauren King, for Monthly Art Club on the first Wednesday of every month from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monthly Art Club offers the opportunity to express yourself creatively while connecting with other artists. All supplies are provided in the $10 fee, which allows you free reign of Cornerstone’s art studio. Art Club will begin with an hour of demonstration/lesson focusing on that evening’s topic followed by a few hours of open studio/creation time. The next Monthly Art Club is on Wednesday, May 3 and is open to ages 14 and up. This month’s topic is acrylic painting techniques.

Monthly Dance Club is a monthly social dance event at Cornerstone Center for the Arts. Each event begins with an hour of dance instruction in swing, ballroom, salsa, or tango dancing led by instructor David Fennig followed by open dancing. The event is a great way to spend a Saturday evening with friends while showing off already existing dance skills or learning a new dance form. The next Monthly Dance Club is May 6, no pre-registration is necessary for this event.

Pints & Paints is a no commitment painting experience held at The Fickle Peach in Downtown Muncie. Attendees enjoy two hours of creating a unique featured painting at each workshop. The workshop is for ages 21 and up and includes one drink in the $25 registration fee. The next Pints & Paints workshop will be on May 11. Photos of upcoming paintings are available on Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ Facebook page.

Coffee & Paints is similar to Pints & Paints but is held at Cornerstone Center for the Arts and is open to students in the 4th grade through adults. Attendees who are experienced artists or are completely new to painting will enjoy creating in this relaxed atmosphere. Registration is $25 per person to attend with the next workshop on May 13. Photos of featured paintings are available on Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ Facebook page.

Summer workshop dates and topics will be announced in early May. For more information about each of these workshops and more visit cornerstonearts.org or call 765-281-9503.
