Muncie, IN—Open Door Health Services would like to welcome Dr. Beena M. Joseph, a Board Certified Pediatrician with over 17 years of experience.
Dr. Joseph earned her MB.BS. (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) Degree from the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Bharathiar University in India. She then completed her residency at Colombia University College of Physicians and Surgery in New York, NY.
She has practiced in Logansport, Kokomo, Indianapolis, and Muncie during her career, but has been a Muncie local for over 18 years. Dr. Joseph spent some time as a Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Indiana Health Centers, but says she missed direct patient care. This led her back to caring for pediatric patients at Open Door.
When asked about her new adventure with Open Door she says, “I like the patient population. Not a lot of people want to work in a Federally Qualified Health Center, but I really enjoy it and the patients really need it. I am more satisfied in this work and feel like I am making an impact.”

Open Door Health Services is a not-for-profit Federally Qualified Health Center that acts as a safety net for the uninsured and underinsured of East Central Indiana. The organization provides health care services to all people of all ages regardless of their ability to pay. Open Door Health Services accepts private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plan. For individuals who do have insurance, fees are adjusted based on their income and household size also known as a sliding scale fee model. Open Door Health Services has continued to expand to meet the healthcare needs of individuals throughout Eastern Indiana. ODHS currently offers a variety of services through locations in Muncie and Anderson.
