Free Big Band Jazz Concert By America’s Hometown Band This Thursday

Muncie, IN—On Thursday evening August 8th, the top-notch Big Band musicians from America’s Hometown Band will be taking their classy Big Band sound to the beautiful front lawn of the E.B. & Bertha C. Ball Center on Minnetrista Blvd. This popular Free concert is a highly entertaining window to the tradition of swing music in its many forms, styles, and tempos. This group and this event’s program are crafted by Will Frazier and Phil Cooley, Assistant Music Directors with America’s Hometown Band. 

The concert will begin at 7:30pm.

The public is invited, admission is free, and parking is free at the fairgrounds, right across the street from the back of the Ball Center. Bring lawn seating, friends, family—and prepare to be wowed with the sound again.

The non-profit America’s Hometown Band is Muncie’s municipal band, which is sponsored in part by the City of Muncie, Mayor Dennis Tyler, and by the generosity of donors large and small – including the patrons and musicians of the band, Ball State University, Emens Auditorium, Muncie Star Press, Muncie Music Center, Muncie Power Products, Mutual Bank, Old National Bank, Muncie Schools, E.B. & Bertha C. Ball Foundation, George and Francis Ball Foundation, the Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County. Individual donations always welcome any time. AHB Music Director is Roger McConnell, Assistant Directors are Will Frazier and Phil Cooley. Assistant Conductors are Charles Routh, and Rachel Eldridge.
