Cornerstone Center for the Arts Fall Classes, Workshops, and Special Events

Muncie, IN—As Thomas Merton once said, “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” Cornerstone Center for the Arts is proud to offer opportunities where all people have a place to be themselves, connect with others, and let go of their daily stress. Cornerstone will offer classes for the entire family this fall. Fall eight-week classes begin the week of September 14 and continue through the week of November 6. Various workshops, masterclasses, and adventures will also be offered through December. Registration will remain open for classes for youth and adults in visual arts, dance, theatre, music, wellness, and more.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts strives to provide creative and educational outlets for students as early as 1 year old. Infant and preschool virtual classes include: Creative Movement,Early Ballet I and II,Early Hip Hop and Jazz, Early Musical Theatre, Early Tap, Early Theatre and Drama, and Preschool Art.

Classes designed for Kindergarten through 5th grade focus on early elementary development and peer collaboration. Youth classes include: Early Elementary Art,Youth Ballet I, Youth Creative Art,Youth Digital Drawing and Painting,Youth Hip Hop and Jazz,  Youth Lyrical and Modern Dance, Youth Musical Theatre, Youth Theatre and Drama I and II, and Youth Tap.

If students grades 6 through 8 are interested in self expression and creativity, the following virtual classes will be perfect: Junior Creative Art and Junior Digital Drawing and Painting. Students are welcome to join Ethical Street and Graffiti in which they will work directly with graffiti artist, Leon Crosby, design their own graffiti pieces, and test their skills out in the community.

Most high school and adult classes will be held in person, hosted at Cornerstone Center for the Arts or in partnership with community parks. High School and adult in person classes include: Adult Ballet I and II, Adult Contemporary and Jazz, Adult Tap I andII,Belly Dance 101, Bollywood,Ceramics,Fluid Art,Irish Step Dance Troupe,USA Combat Jujitsu,and Veil for Belly Dance. Yoga and DanceFit will be held virtually– you could take a vacation to Colorado and workout in the mountains.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts is proud to introduce a new series of events designed for any age group. These masterclasses, workshops, and adventures will be taught both in person and virtually. Cornerstone is honored to partner with artists across the country to bring the community and experience they will never forget. These events include:For a Day Adventures (for ages preschool – 5th grade), Movement in Nature Workshop Series (for all ages),Enter Stage Right Masterclasses (for high school and college, also open to the public), Burlesque: Behind the Curtain Workshops (18+), En Plein Air Events (for high school +), and Learning from the Masters Arts Series (for high school +).

Cornerstone Center for the Arts offers many financial aid and discount opportunities. For the fall 2020 session, Delaware County students and medical employees will receive a 45% discount to any class of their choosing. Applications for financial aid are available online.
