MUNCIE, Ind. —At 11:30am on Tuesday April 11, 2023, the Muncie Noon Rotary Club and Sunrise Rotary Club will celebrate the annual Very Important Volunteer Awards (V!VA) luncheon at the Horizon Convention Center. This year’s generous sponsor of V!VA is PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union.
The V!VA Awards were developed as a gift to the Muncie community in 1993 by the Muncie Rotary Club to recognize Delaware County’s proud volunteer heritage. This year, five individuals will be recognized with traditional V!VA Awards for their volunteer efforts in Delaware County within the past 12 months. In addition, one person will claim the Edmund F. Ball Lifetime Achievement Award for their outstanding long-term volunteer commitment. Each V!VA Award Recipient will receive a plaque and public recognition for their efforts.

A selection committee consisting of Rotarians and community members has reviewed several nominations of worthy individuals for these awards.
- Each of the nominees live or work in Delaware County, or the impact of his/her volunteer service is felt in Delaware County.
- Each nominee provided volunteer service without expectation of financial remuneration, although reimbursement of expenses did not disqualify a nominee. Nomination of student volunteers was encouraged.
- Except for the Lifetime Achievement Award, each nominee rendered volunteer services within the last 24 months. The unsuccessful Lifetime Achievement Award nominees are carried over to qualify for subsequent awards for 3 years.
For a full list of 2023 awardees, please attend the V!VA luncheon on April 11.
