Muncie Downtown Development Announces New Executive Director

MUNCIE, IN – The Muncie Downtown Development Partnership (MDDP) Board of Directors has announced Angie Hibner as their new Executive Director effective June 19th, 2023. Hibner had been President/Owner of Respire Strategy, responsible for building a company by providing strategy solutions to the top communication challenges facing small business.

For the past 8 years she has played a key role in bringing communication strategy and tools to over 600 entrepreneurs throughout the state of Indiana. Her biggest passion is building relationships to help businesses and communities come together, grow, and make an impact on quality of living.

The Executive Director position plays a key role in developing and promoting resources, partnerships, and initiatives that advance the community and economic vitality of downtown Muncie for the benefit of entire city. Board President Will Isaacs reported that “Angie will be positioned to not only increase our revenue base and expand partnerships but will lead efforts to compete and succeed in today’s economic environment.”

Hibner was selected after an extensive search and was unanimously approved by the MDDP Board of Directors. “Muncie Downtown Development Partnership has done some amazing work and I am so excited to be working with such a fantastic board and staff. I am honored to accept this role and look forward to building on the great work they have already done,” said Hibner.

Hibner will be taking over this role from former Executive Director, Vicki Veach, who plans to retire after more than 12 years of service with MDDP. Vicki will continue working until the end of August to assist with the executive director transition and work with Cheryl Crowder, event director to produce downtowns summer street festival, Fire Up DWNTWN, Aug 5th.
