MUNCIE, IN—Dale Basham, Past President of Muncie Rotary (2014-2015) and Past District Governor of Rotary District 6560 (2018-2019), has been nominated by Immediate Past District Governor, Demekya McAllen and confirmed by Rotary International as Central Indiana’s delegate for the 2023-2026 term of the Rotary International Council on Legislation.
Delegates are elected to three-year terms. These Rotarians meet at the Council on Legislation to review and vote on proposed changes to the legislation that governs Rotary. They consider enactments, which change Rotary’s governing documents, and position statements by the Rotary International Board.
Immediate Past District 6560 Governor, Demekya McAllen, wrote, “Dale Basham’s dedication to the district and Rotary International is matchless. Dale is extremely active in his home club in Muncie, Indiana. He is involved in many aspects of his community. Everybody knows his name! In fact, he is known throughout Rotary World as ‘Mr. Muncie.’ Dale is well versed in many forms of communication, verbal, email, social media, etc. and ensures the members of our district are informed about the phenomenal activities that are happening in and throughout Central Indiana. He personifies Service Above Self and is a true testament to the meaning of the 4-way test. His leadership is professional, personable, and inclusive. When making this selection, the choice was obvious. I am excited to have Dale Basham represent District 6560 on the Council of Legislation.”
When contacted about his continued service to Rotary International and Muncie Rotary, Basham said, “I am honored again, to represent Central Indiana, and more specifically Muncie, on the world stage. I am so proud to shine the spotlight on our incredible City of Muncie, and to take our message of service and commitment to excellence to whichever city, state, or country I’m in.”
