STATEHOUSE— Indiana House Republicans are seeking student interns for the 2026 legislative session, according to State Reps. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City) and Elizabeth Rowray (R-Yorktown).
These paid, full-time internships are open to college students, recent graduates and students in graduate and law school. Rowray said the internship is an opportunity to gain practical knowledge of state government through active participation in the legislative process.
“Interns leave this program with more confidence to explore career options and an appreciation of the work done here,” Rowray said. “It shows them various paths to serve their community and gives them the skills to take those next steps.”
Prescott said interns will work in the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis full time Monday through Friday during the legislative session, which starts in January and concludes in March.
“With every internship class I’ve had the pleasure of working with, their skills grew and they made important connections during their time at the Statehouse,” Prescott said. “It’s rewarding to see students discover their strengths and how their experience follows them long after the internship ends.”
Positions are available in legislative operations, policy and communications.
Interns will be paired with a staff member to work directly with an assigned group of state representatives. During this spring semester internship, students will have opportunities to interact with state legislators, state agencies and private sector organizations, as well as participate in a weekly speaker series featuring Indiana civic leaders.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
