MUNCIE, IN—Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) crews are nearing completion of work on Tillotson Avenue between Euclid and University Avenues.
Tillotson Avenue near IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is expected to be open within the next few weeks. Some temporary traffic control measures may be required for minor repairs. I&M is coordinating with the City of Muncie to repave Tillotson Avenue in 2026.
The final phase of the project includes underground line replacement in Halteman Village, impacting Twickingham Drive, Tillotson Avenue and Riggin Road. This work requires full road closures to be completed block-by-block. Residents in the area will be contacted by I&M. I&M is coordinating road restoration with the City of Muncie.
Additionally, I&M is replacing overhead lines along Bethel and Tillotson Avenue near Northside Middle School and Ball State University’s Scheumann Stadium. The overhead work may require traffic control measures for the safety of crews and the public.
Both underground and overhead power line work will continue through fall 2026.
“Our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible,” said Rob Keisling, External Affairs manager. “We appreciate the community’s ongoing patience and cooperation while we work to improve reliability.”
