MUNCIE, IN—As the Muncie Action Plan (MAP) looks back on a productive year, we are excited to reflect on our continued efforts to enhance the quality of life in Muncie and Delaware County. We invite the community to join us for our Annual Report to the Community, taking place Wednesday, January 28, at 6:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at Ivy Tech.

During this gathering, each of MAP’s four task forces will present their accomplishments and progress from 2025 and their goals and aspirations for 2026. This article marks the first in a series of updates from our dedicated task force leaders, highlighting the impact of MAP’s initiatives and the power of collaboration across our community.

Muncie Action Plan Task Force One: The TogetherDM Coalition works towards the county-wide initiatives identified in the Muncie-Delaware County Comprehensive Plan which include improving quality of place, strengthening housing conditions and options, and expanding opportunities for upward mobility. Task Force One spent 2025 gathering stakeholder input, forming partnerships, and planning collaborations in order to build a strong foundation as the base of our efforts. The TogetherDM Action Framework: A Strategic Roadmap is the final document that was created out of these efforts.

The process of creating The TogetherDM Action Framework: A Strategic Roadmap involved six months of meetings with stakeholders and a final survey in order to identify and prioritize actionable items in the Comprehensive Plan. MAP and the Delaware-Muncie Metropolitan Plan Commission will use this document will serve as a guidebook to set specific goals to concentrate our efforts on.

Task Force One will continue to build productive relationships with individuals and agencies in our community that are working towards improving the quality of life for Muncie and Delaware County residents. We will continue to work with our partners toward thoughtfully planning land uses and public investments to enhance efficiency and address prevalent issues within the community.

Join us on January 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at Ivy Tech downtown to hear about the impactful initiatives underway across all four MAP task forces.
