MUNCIE, IN —The Greater Muncie Chamber of Commerce has named Matt Howell as the recipient of the 2026 Spirit of Muncie Award, recognizing his longstanding commitment to volunteerism, leadership, and community engagement.
Established in 2002 in honor of Al Rent, the Spirit of Muncie Award celebrates individuals who exemplify outstanding service to the Chamber and the broader community. The award was presented during the annual Muncie on the Move breakfast on April 1.
Howell has been a dedicated Chamber volunteer for many years, consistently contributing his time and talent as a photographer at key community events. From Muncie on the Move to Chamber Cup; Legislative Updates; the Legacy Dinner; Chamber Bowl; and the Annual Dinner, Howell’s work helps capture and preserve the spirit of the community. He also photographs the Academy for Community Leadership class each year and generously shares his images through the Chamber’s social media platforms. His photography is widely displayed in offices, banks,
hospitals, and homes across the country.
Beyond his work with the Chamber, Howell is an active member of the Muncie Rotary Club, where he was honored as Rotarian of the Year for Rotary District 6560 in 2018–19. He is a familiar presence at community events throughout Muncie, documenting moments that celebrate
local connection and progress.
Matt Howell and his wife, Angie Rogers-Howell, are co-owners of Farmhouse Creative and RoHo’s Martini Bar. Matt also operates Howell’s DJ Service. Farmhouse Creative has received multiple honors, including the Chamber’s Spirit of Small Business Award in 2014, recognition from
the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce in 2022, and the 2019 Impact Award for East Central Indiana. The business has proudly served the region for more than 13 years.
