MUNCIE, IN—Now is the time for citizens to plan when, how and where they will vote.

Early voting at the Delaware County’s Voter Registration Office, Room 104, in the Delaware County Building, 100 W. Main St., starts at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, and will conclude at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2.

Early voting will be available Monday through Friday at the Voter Registration Office at the Delaware County Building at Main and Walnut streets.

Two Saturdays, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, will be available for early voting. Saturday voting will take place at two vote centers: the Delaware County Building and the Delaware County Fairgrounds on Wheeling Avenue. Hours to vote will be 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Absentee ballots can be secured until Oct. 22 from the Delaware County Voter Registration Office, 765-747-7812.

For voters who are unable to leave their homes to vote, another option is to arrange for the Travel Board to bring a voting machine to their home. Call the Delaware County Voter Registration Office, 765-747-7812, as soon as possible to make these arrangements.

Polls on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, will open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.

Citizens now can vote at any one of 26 vote centers in Delaware County. Citizens do not have to go to a specific precinct polling place any longer. Vote centers were first used in Delaware County for the May 2026 primary elections.

To vote, however, citizens must be registered to vote. The deadline to register to vote this election season is 11:59 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5. Citizens can check to see if they are registered at VOTE411.org. If citizens are not registered to vote, they also can register to vote at VOTE411.org.

The League, since its founding in 1920, strives to empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy, education and litigation at the local, state and national levels.

In addition, the League never supports or opposes political parties or candidates. Instead, it takes positions on issues that affect voters. Positions might align with a party or a candidate at times but diverge at other times. The League’s focus is always on policies and measures that serve the public interest – not party affiliation.

The League of Women Voters Education Fund and local leagues work to register and inform voters through the election resources of VOTE411.org  and candidate forums.

People of all different governing beliefs are eligible to join local chapters of the League of Women Voters. No invitation is needed. To join the Muncie-Delaware County League, go to https://www.lwvmunciedelaware.org/.
