MUNCIE, IN—The Paul Revere Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 DAR Good Citizen Award. The prestigious honor recognizes outstanding students who exemplify the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. This year’s winners include Avrum Horsley from Cowan Junior Senior High School, Hailie Woodring from Delta High School, Jonah Smith from Muncie Central High School, Shelby Brannon from Wapahani High School, Piper Ann Stewart from Wes-Del Jr. Sr. High School, and Brycen Shively from Yorktown High School.

Each year, local school administrators select a student to receive the DAR Good Citizen Award based on their exceptional display of good citizenship in homes, schools, and community settings. After being named as the school’s award winner, students are invited to participate in the scholarship component of the program, which requires a personal statement and essay. From this pool, one scholarship recipient is chosen to represent the chapter in the state-level contest.

This year’s scholarship award went to Shelby Brannon from Wapahani High School, who earned the honor of representing the Paul Revere Chapter at the state competition. Lisa Kemp, Chairperson of the DAR Good Citizen Award, had the privilege of presenting the award to Shelby during the Wapahani High School Honor Day on May 23, 2025.

The DAR Good Citizen Award program aims to cultivate and reward the values of good citizenship among youth, encouraging them to lead by example in their communities. The Paul Revere Chapter is honored to celebrate these exceptional students and their dedication to service and leadership.
