MUNCIE, IN — Indiana Gov. Mike Braun has appointed Aidan Davis as the new student representative on the Ball State University Board of Trustees.

Mr. Davis, whose appointment began July 10, 2025, will serve a two-year term through June 30, 2027.

“We are pleased to welcome Aidan Davis as our newest member of the Board of Trustees,” said Rick Hall, chair of the Ball State Board of Trustees. “Aidan is an accomplished student whose leadership, perspective, and passion for serving others will be a valuable addition to our board.”

Mr. Davis, a Greenfield, Ind., native, is a biochemistry major at Ball State with a concentration in pre-medical preparation. He has been recognized for his academic excellence and leadership, receiving multiple departmental awards, including the General Chemistry Award, the McIntyre Scholarship for pre-med students, and the Dr. Wiseman Park Scholarship. He currently maintains a strong academic record while balancing his role as a teaching assistant in anatomy and physiology and conducting undergraduate research in both microbiology and organic chemistry.

Mr. Davis has participated in numerous organizations and volunteer efforts as a Ball State student. His campus involvement includes the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society. Off campus, he has served the local and global community through volunteer work at the Muncie Mission Medical Clinic and as part of Ball State’s MedLife chapter, including a medical service trip to Riobamba, Ecuador.

“I am grateful to Gov. Braun for affording me this opportunity to serve as the student member of the Ball State Board of Trustees,” Mr. Davis said. “Ball State has given me the capacity to shape myself and my future, and I look forward to giving back by representing the student perspective and supporting the continued success of our University.”

In a letter supporting his appointment, Dr. Robert Sammelson, chair of Ball State’s Department of Chemistry, praised Mr. Davis as “hard-working, thoughtful, and exceptionally committed to Ball State and its mission.”

This trustee position at Ball State provides an opportunity for a student who is passionate and knowledgeable about higher education to represent student perspectives while making administrative decisions for the University.

Mr. Davis succeeds Hope Churchill, who recently finished her two-year term as Ball State’s student trustee. In May, Ms. Churchill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with minors in communications and human resource management.

“We are grateful for Hope’s dedicated service to the Board of Trustees and proud of all that she accomplished as a student,” Mr. Hall said. “Hope brought a thoughtful perspective to our conversations, which significantly contributed to our decisions as a Board.”
