YORKTOWN, IN – Yorktown High School has been named to the 2025 Advanced Placement®, AP® School Honor Roll, earning Gold recognition from the College Board. This distinction marks a significant milestone for the school, reflecting a three-year progression of continuous improvement—from Bronze recognition in the program’s first year, to Silver, and now Gold.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that expand access to rigorous, college-level coursework while supporting strong student outcomes and a college-going culture.

For the Class of 2025, Yorktown High School met or exceeded all College Board benchmarks required for Gold status:

● 75% of seniors took at least one AP exam (College Culture – Gold)

● 53% earned a score of 3 or higher on an AP exam (College Credit – Platinum)

● 13% completed five or more AP exams, including at least one taken in 9th or 10th grade (College Optimization – Gold)

“This recognition reflects intentional growth and a sustained commitment to student opportunity and achievement,” said Stacey Brewer, Principal of Yorktown High School. “Our progression from Bronze to Silver to Gold is a testament to the dedication of our students, teachers, and staff (K-12) in expanding access to rigorous coursework while maintaining high expectations and strong support.”

The Advanced Placement Program, administered by the College Board, offers college-level courses and exams in more than 40 subject areas. Students who perform well on AP exams may earn college credit, advanced placement, or both, helping them prepare for success beyond high school.

Yorktown High School remains committed to providing equitable access to high-quality academic opportunities and preparing students for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.
