Ball State School of Music to Perform Masterworks Concert at The Palladium

By: BSU News— MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State University’s School of Music will make its debut at the Palladium at The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26. Ryan Hourigan, the school’s director, said Masterworks concert at the Palladium is the largest ever performed by Ball State students. Owsley Museum Kicks Off Spring Semester With Global Contemporary Art Exhibition

By: Gail Werner— MUNCIE, Ind. — A major exhibition of global contemporary art featuring the work of three international artists opened this month at Ball State’s David Owsley Museum of Art. “SHIFT: Jongil Ma, Christopher Smith, Corban Walker,” explores how people see and experience space and time as well as physical and emotional realities. The exhibit runs through May 7, with music, lectures, and special events throughout the semester. Guest curator Lisa Banner, an art historian and visiting professor at the Brooklyn-based Pratt Institute, spent 15 months preparing for the exhibition. He autographed posters and other memorabilia for hundreds of fans who turned out for the event at Toyota of Muncie. Robert, who has been to Muncie numerous times to visit with fans, was very gracious and seemed to really enjoy interacting and kidding around with the fans in attendance. Many kids (and adults) appeared to be awestruck at the opportunity to meet Robert in person and to wish him well during his retirement.
