Community Scan Day Will Focus on Local Women in Politics and the Military

Upcoming Family Events at Muncie Public Library

A festival celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month is scheduled for Saturday, September 24. The event will feature Mexican folkloric dance performances by Grupo Folclórico Macehuani, from 1-2 p.m. in the garden area. Participants should bring their own chairs or blankets. If you went through the front gates, you might have seen Dale Basham of the Muncie Rotary Club directing traffic. Day of Action in Delaware County Draws Almost 600 Volunteers

By Kim Williams— DELAWARE COUNTY, IN –There was another record turnout for Heart of Indiana United Way’s Day of Action in Muncie, which was held on Friday, September 9, 2022. Day of Action is a community-wide volunteer event focused on bringing together individuals and groups to help make a difference in the community by working on one-day projects at local nonprofits.  589 volunteers came together to work in a single day of service. Annual White River Clean-up: September 17, 8 am-Noon at Muncie’s Westside Park

By MDCB— MUNCIE, IN—Since 2006, Muncie-Delaware Clean & Beautiful and the Muncie Sanitary District have organized over 4,900 volunteers to remove 150,000 pounds of trash (including over 950 tires) from the White River. Join them this September as that tradition of stewardship continues. Check-in is at Muncie’s Westside Park at 8 am. Volunteers can travel on foot or by canoe and will be transported to and from different points along the river. Crew leaders are especially needed this year.
