Muncie, IN—The story of Changing Seasons Patio Shoppe begins with shopping! Patricia and David Wallace were customers of the patio shoppe before becoming owners. As customers, they fell in love with the quality of the products and the ability to customize exactly what they wanted. When the owners were looking to sell their business in 1997 Pat and David didn’t want to see this gem of a business leave. They loved the quality of the furniture and their experience as customers so much that they decided to keep the patio shoppe going.
With that, the business became Pat’s project and passion. In the early days she brought in her daughter, Kerri, to assist her in learning all about patio furniture and the high-end brands the shoppe carried. Soon her parents and aunt Jean also became staples of the business. Her father James performed many of the repair jobs, her mother Ginny helped with the phones and customer service, while Aunt Jean helped in cleaning and set up. Husband David helped when possible, mostly with deliveries. Her sons Bryan and Jonathan, helped on occasion with building furniture, repairs, and deliveries. In 2013 Bryan came to work with Pat full time, and his wife, Mary joined in 2018. Today Pat enjoys coming in as needed and being partially retired, Bryan and Mary operate the day to day business, and the grandchildren help out as needed. It is a true family business.
