STATEHOUSE – Elizabeth Rowray of Yorktown took the oath of office today to serve as state representative for House District 35.
Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush administered the oath to all House lawmakers during a swearing-in ceremony in the House Chamber of the Statehouse during Organization Day, the formal start to the 2021 legislative session.
“From growing up in the community to raising my own family here, I am fortunate to know our area well and am eager to represent our district at the Statehouse,” Rowray said. “I hope to use my experience in government and passion for education to help continue moving our state in the right direction.”
Rowray previously worked as a legislative director for former U.S. Congressman Mark Souder of Indiana in Washington, D.C., and at the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance. She now does consulting in the non-profit sector.
Rowray lives in Yorktown with her husband and three children. She is a graduate of Burris Laboratory School in Muncie and Ball State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English.
