We are extremely involved in the community and are extremely active with our school system. By: Mike Rhodes— If you’re hankering for some nostalgia AND great food, pull into Burkies Drive-In. One of Muncie’s most popular landmarks, the restaurant has served Muncie residents since 1954. Burkie’s is the oldest operational restaurant in Delaware County. Their famous outdoor sign is the oldest operational sign of that era in Delaware County. The sign was recently restored with fresh paint and authentic bulbs.
