Muncie, IN—The 3rd Annual NAACP Muncie Freedom Fund Banquet will be held Friday, September 20, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Horizon Convention Center located at 401 S. High Street, Muncie, Indiana 47303. As always, we have an exciting dinner planned to include great food and a dynamic speaker. This year’s keynote speaker is Carolene Mays-Medley, Executive Director-White River State Park and Motivational.

Carolene Mays-Medley has overseen a rapidly increasing event lineup as well as an infrastructure overhaul—including an upcoming upgrade of the Lawn concert facility. Mays-Medley also has had an extensive career in politics, business and media.

The “Freedom Fund” represents the resources the NAACP Muncie branch uses to support its mission to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination. That includes the support of various community organizations who share in our mission as well as addressing issues that go against our mission.

One of the main purposes of the “Freedom Fund” is to support our youth who participate in our ACT-SO competition. We are firm believers that our youth are the single most important part of continuing the fight against injustice.
