Muncie, IN—IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and Central Indiana Orthopedics (CIO) have enjoyed a great relationship for many years when it comes to orthopedic surgeries and care provided in our community. Due to the increasing demand for orthopedic services, IU Health Ball and CIO are excited to bring TEAMHealth, a nationwide network of highly skilled orthopedic surgeons, on board to provide the majority of orthopedic trauma care.

“We are very excited about this collaborative effort between all three entities,” said Paula Tyler, orthopedic and neuroscience service line leader at IU Health Ball. “It will help to fully serve our community to the highest standard we continuously strive for and will provide improved access to orthopedic care.”

The TEAMHealth surgeons will be located at IU Health Ball and will be dedicated to treating patients in the emergency department, inpatient units and surgical care and follow-up with bone and joint injuries and infections as well as any follow-up care until healing is complete. These surgeons are board certified and specialize in treating patients who have experienced traumatic injuries to their bones and joints.

“Having specialized orthopedic trauma surgeons at IU Health Ball will free up our dedicated surgeons to focus on their scheduled patient surgeries, appointments and follow-ups,” said Dr. Brent Damer, orthopedic surgeon at Central Indiana Orthopedics.

The partnership will be effective starting January 6, 2020.
