Destination: Muncie Announces New Partnership

MUNCIE, IN— The Board of Directors of Visit Muncie, Inc, announced today a new strategic partnership with Intersection Marketing and Branding Agency. In continuing efforts to maximize the impact and results of Innkeepers Tax dollars, the Board has tasked Intersection with the Chief Marketing Officer role for the destination marketing organization.

“We want to continue the momentum the team has built over the last year,” said Jarod Walls, Chair of the Visit Muncie Board. “Our team has been more productive than ever during our tenure with Intersection as our agency of record, and now Intersection will be helping create and direct strategy for our efforts.”

In the last year, the team at Destination: Muncie has hit several key objectives including the roll-out of the Destination: Muncie brand, the curating of content and design for the destinationmuncie.org website, and the publishing of 4 versions of the Destination: Muncie Experience Guide, with the latest 72-page edition ready for distribution in late May.

Facebook “likes” and “follows” have reached new high marks, and multiple digital ad campaigns are gaining enhanced traction as the community strives to attract both conventions and multi-hotel events as well as other tourist visits.

“The teamwork and results are evident,” said Heidi Hale, Board Member. “The organization has been through many transitions in the last 5 years, and this step will not only help continue the good work but will help provide a solid strategic foundation.”

The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors will continue to provide budget oversight and various staff development functions.

Intersection is a full-service marketing agency whose clients employ them for strategy as well as execution. “We enjoy all aspects of helping good people tell great stories, but when we participate in the overall marketing and business strategies, the deliverables are better and results oriented,” said Brandon Coppernoll, Managing Director of Intersection.

Intersection has also been instrumental in helping organize Quarterly Partner Meetings during which stakeholder organizations in the tourism arena meet to coordinate calendars, share marketing assets, and discuss ways to curate the visitor experience in Muncie and Delaware County.

“Over 35 organizations will be represented at the next meeting May 22 hosted by Ball State’s Office of Community Engagement,” said Scott Smalstig of Intersection. “But the best part is that folks are talking to each other in more meaningful ways than ever.”
