EAST CENTRAL IN—The ECI Regional Planning District, in partnership with Ball State University and the Purdue Center for Regional Development, has completed a draft of the 2025 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Plan, which focuses on the region served by the district: Delaware, Grant, Jay, and Blackford counties. As required every five years, this plan outlines the region’s economic priorities and identifies key projects eligible for funding through the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).
The draft is now available for public review as part of a mandatory 30-day comment period, and the ECI Regional Planning District is inviting input from residents, business owners, local leaders, and all members of the East Central Indiana community.
“The CEDS Plan is a critical roadmap for regional growth and investment,” said Bill Walters, Executive Director of the ECI Regional Planning District, “Public feedback will ensure that the strategy reflects the shared goals and values of those who live and work in our communities.”
In addition to the five-year planning cycle, the CEDS Plan is revised annually to reflect the evolving needs and priorities of the region.
Community members are encouraged to review the draft and provide feedback through a brief survey. The draft and survey are available on the ECI Regional Planning District’s website at https://ecirpd.org/ceds2025/. The deadline to complete the survey is Tuesday, August 12 at 11:59 PM EDT.
