MUNCIE, IN—Minnetrista Museum & Gardens invites the community to experience its most beloved seasonal tradition, Enchanted Luminaria Walk, on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, from 5–9 p.m. each evening. This free, family-friendly event transforms Minnetrista’s 40-acre campus into a glowing winter celebration filled with lights, live music, festive activities, and opportunities for joyful memory-making.
“Enchanted Luminaria Walk is one of the moments we look forward to all year,” says Kirsten Novotny, Associate Director of Experience & Education at Minnetrista. “It brings our community together in a way that feels joyful and deeply meaningful. Everywhere you look, families are making memories, neighbors are reconnecting, and the entire campus shimmers with the magic of the season.”
Guests can explore a variety of seasonal experiences across Minnetrista’s grounds. Highlights include the Holiday Artisan Market in the Indiana Room and Cantina, live musical performances in the Hackley Gallery each hour, and special presentations of T’was the Night Before Christmas on the Greensward at 5:45 p.m., 6:45 p.m., and 7:45 p.m. Visitors can also enjoy making a free craft, live caroling, barrel train rides for kids, and a whimsical visit to Gingy and Candyland on Betty’s Cabin Lawn.
Minnetrista’s main campus comes alive as all Center Building galleries will open for evening exploration, alongside special offerings across the site. Oakhurst Home welcomes guests to its historic first floor with live music from Patchwork, the E.B. Ball Center opens its doors for festive tours, and Maplewood offers sweet treats and warm winter beverages. Hospitality at Minnetrista will serve seasonal favorites at multiple food stations, with The Orchard Shop open for holiday shopping and a kettle corn vendor adding irresistible aroma to the winter air.
Visitors attending on Saturday can take advantage of a special partnership with Ball State University’s Holiday Arts Night, featuring a shuttle between the BSU Greenhouse and Minnetrista for an expanded evening of holiday arts experiences.
Enchanted Luminaria Walk is a rain-or-shine event, with brief pauses only in cases of high wind. Visitors are encouraged to dress warmly for this outdoor celebration.
Join us for two unforgettable evenings at Enchanted Luminaria Walk, December 5 and 6, from 5–9 p.m. Admission is free, welcoming the entire community to share in the magic that has made this event a Minnetrista tradition for generations.
