MUNCIE, IN—The ArtsWalk Lineup on Thursday, October 2, from 5–8 p.m. Art, music, food, history, and community will come together in the heart of DWNTWN, transforming familiar spaces into a stage for local creativity.
Highlights include:
- Galleries & Exhibits – Gordy Fine Art & Framing Company, Cornerstone Center for the Arts, Art at the Murray, Carrie Wright Silk Gifts, ECAP Gallery, Made in Muncie, MuncieArts, and more.
- DWNTWN IDOL Finale – 6 p.m. at Canan Commons.
- NEW Augmented Reality Experiences – Explore Muncie’s history with your phone through immersive AR views of the Wysor Grand Opera House, Wysor Building, and Courthouse, plus “The Foundering” in Dave’s Alley. Contributors: IDIA Lab, John Fillwalk, The Ball Brothers Foundation and The Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County.
- Soup Crawl – A beloved fall tradition featuring delicious soups across downtown, with proceeds supporting Second Harvest Food Bank. Tickets are limited and expected to sell out.
- Street Performers – Buskers including John Beatrice, Ric Dwenger, Katie Jo Robinson, and Jerry Barker bring Walnut Street alive.
- NEW Pedestrian Ironworks Reveal – Two new utility cover artworks by local artisan Aaron Nicholson. Sponsored by Destination Muncie, Indiana American Water Co, Muncie Sanitary District and The Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County
- Special Venues & Features – Madjax Maker Force, the NEW ECAP Gallery downtown, First Merchants parking lot- (First Women Connections) Health & Wellness Fair and Ivy Tech will have buildings open for self-guided tours of their art work and earlier 2pm ribbon cutting for the new sculptural installation by internationally acclaimed architect Tatiana Bilbao ESTUDIO
