MUNCIE, IN — The City of Muncie is pleased to announce that Mason Ridge, a new 126-lot residential subdivision, has unanimously passed its final review before the Planning Commission on Thursday, December 4. The project will bring significant new housing opportunities to the community and represents a substantial private investment in Muncie’s continued growth.

Located on 37 acres at the northwest corner of Jackson and Morrison, Mason Ridge will feature a thoughtfully designed neighborhood layout that includes multiple water features, a public greenspace, and a primary entrance on Morrison Road.

The homes will be constructed by DR Horton, the nation’s largest homebuilder and the developer behind Muncie’s highly successful Storer Estates. Homes in Mason Ridge are expected to range from $300,000 to $375,000. DR Horton initially anticipated selling seven homes per year at Storer Estates, but the development sold out in just five months, demonstrating a powerful demand for new housing within the city.

“The market for new housing in Muncie is strong. Clearly, the success of Storer Estates illustrated that fact. We are very happy that DR Horton believes in Muncie and is making what will amount to a $40,000,000 investment in our community when all homes are completed,” said Mayor Dan Ridenour.

Construction on Mason Ridge is expected to begin in the near future, with more information to be shared as timelines are finalized.
