Hillman incorporated life lessons about “old-school” character values like respect for self and others, dedication, accountability, responsibility and commitment, into his motivational talk on Attitude. The YOC’s recreational and activities program is designed to positively influence YOC youth. Its aim is to promote self-discipline, responsibility, and essential teamwork skills. Muncie, IN – The 4th Annual Runway for Rescues will be held at 8 p.m., April 1, at The Muncie Civic Theatre, 216 E. Main Street, sponsored by Kishel Photography. By: Emily Royer— Neighbors picked up conference bags and name tags the morning of March 4th as they checked in for the second Neighborhood I.D.E.A. conference. While they greeted one another, they shared their level of enthusiasm for Muncie by placing a sticker on a “Continuum of Engagement” with options ranging from ‘hostile’ to ‘love’. Unsurprisingly, nearly all the stickers crowded the area between “engaged”, “committed”, and “love” – a great portrait of the average I.D.E.A. attendee. TGFD focuses on developing personal and interpersonal skills to resist peer pressures, goal setting, decision making, bonding with others, have respect for self and others, managing emotions, effective community and social interaction. The program also provides information about the negative consequences of drug use and the benefits of a non-violent, drug-free lifestyle.
