By: Sherri Contos—        MUNCIE—Muncie Arts and Culture Council, with the support of local building owners, has installed two prominent works of art on buildings in downtown Muncie. Large-scale, all-weather, temporary banners display reproductions of famous portraits and paintings, turning the sides of downtown buildings into art installations and conversation pieces. Frank Petty, a downtown property developer, owner, and Ball State graduate, was a key visionary behind the project who worked closely with the Muncie Arts and Culture Council to bring the project to life. Flags of Honor is presented by the Exchange Club of Muncie, in honor and memory of local veterans, current service personnel, fallen heroes, and all those who wish to display their pride for our country. The winner of the biggest package, a four-day trip to Los Angeles with VIP tickets to the Ellen DeGeneres Show, was Chelsey Burton, a resident of Farmland and fourth grade teacher in Winchester.   Other key “Golden Ticket” prizes were dinner and a plane ride for three, a ride for two in a hot air balloon, a Lake Michigan fishing trip for four to Grand Haven, Michigan, and a behind-the-scenes basketball day with the Ball State University athletic director. By: Tom Farris and Mike Rhodes— Today,  the Muncie Rotary Club presented checks totaling $2,000 to four Muncie Central High School organizations for their volunteer partnerships in working with the Muncie Rotary Club, handling visitor gate admissions to the 2016 Delaware County Fair.  Rotary members and group volunteers teamed together to man the admission gates.  The Delaware County Fair gives Muncie Rotary funds for conducting the program, then Rotary gives the funds, along with an additional amount from the treasury of the Muncie Rotary Club to the organizations listed below from Muncie Central High School which provided volunteers for the various days.
