Muncie, IN—Have you ever wondered what goes on inside the Madjax building in downtown Muncie? Come join us for Maker Mondays to learn from the Makers establishing their businesses locally out of Madjax. Maker Mondays are free, weekly workshops offered by The Future of Work for people of all ages. Participants will learn a creative skill while collaborating and connecting with members of their community.

“We are really excited to partner with the makers within the Madjax building to help people build new skills or just be curious and try something new,” shared Kyra Zylstra, director of the Future of Work Muncie. “We hope these small group events can create new connections for youth and adults to come together over shared interests.”

Last week’s Coffee 101 workshop featured Tom Steiner, a retired coffee shop owner and a current maker in the Madjax building. Tom taught participants how to brew Turkish coffee, espresso, French press, and many more styles of coffee. Participants loved the “interactive” experience, enjoyed expanding their knowledge, tasting different types of coffee, and of course “getting to try free things.”

This summer the fun will continue at 6:30pm every Monday at Madjax featuring workshops in Screen Printing, Environmental Science, Aerial Skills, Jewelry Making, and more.  To register for any of the remaining 7 FREE workshops, go to www.sustainablemuncie.org/workshops.
