Arthur D. and Josephine M. Robling Scholarship Recipients Announced

Muncie, IN—The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc., has announced the following students as recipients of the 2016 Arthur D. and Josephine M. Robling Scholarship. Recipients must be residents of Delaware County, be of good moral character and display good citizenship, and must have maintained at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average in high school. Robert Cartwright, a graduate of Heritage Hall Christian School, plans to attend Ball State University to study computer science. He is the son of Robert L. and Christine E. Cartwright. Yorktown Lion’s Club Scholarship Recipient Named

Muncie, IN—The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc., has announced Jason Maynard as the recipient of the 2016 Yorktown Lion’s Club Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a Yorktown High School graduate who maintains an 8.0/12.0 GPA or equivalent and displays good citizenship. Maynard, son of Mandy and Chris Bratton, plans to attend Purdue University where he will study engineering.

Bike/Walk Event Celebrates Longfellow Students

By: Gerry Moore, Principal, Longfellow Elementary School— There is an African adage that states, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” This statement was put into action in a unique way last month for Longfellow Elementary students. Bright and early on Wednesday, May 25, volunteers from a bevy of community organizations gathered at four locations in the Whitely neighborhood to show our students that walking and biking to school can be fun ways to promote fitness and healthy living. The Community Foundation Scholarship Recipients Announced

Muncie, IN—The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc., has announced the 2016 recipients of the Community Foundation Scholarship. The Community Foundation Scholarship is awarded to students who were selected by their individual schools as Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship nominees. The Community Foundation recognizes the outstanding achievements of these students with a $500 scholarship. Consideration was given to student activities and achievements, community and civic service, academic ability and potential for leadership.
