Local Support and Lilly Endowment GIFT VI Match Increases Impact by $2 million

Muncie, Ind. – The generous support of the community grew the endowment of The Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County, Inc. by more than $2 million during the Lilly Endowment Inc GIFT VI campaign. Lilly Endowment Inc invited The Community Foundation to apply for $1 million in matching funds. The funds were to be raised between August 1, 2014 and March 31, 2016. Mayor Tyler Issues Proclamation on Equal Pay Day

By: Jean Amman— Mayor Dennis Tyler met with representatives from the Muncie Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to issue a proclamation designating April 12, 2016, as Equal Pay Day in the City of Muncie. Halteman Village Pool to Open for 58th Season

By: Keith Roberts— Halteman Village Swim Club is currently seeking new members for the upcoming season. The pool has been a fixture in the neighborhood for nearly six decades. Nestled in Halteman Village on Lancaster Ave., Halteman Pool serves not only the Halteman Village neighborhood, but residents of several northwest Muncie neighborhoods. IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Highlighted in Healthcare LGBT Equality Index 2016

MUNCIE – Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital has been recognized as one of four hospitals in the State of Indiana as a “Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the country’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization. The findings were part of HRC Foundation’s Healthcare Equality Index 2016, a unique annual survey that encourages equal care for LGBT Americans by evaluating inclusive policies and practices related to LGBT patients, visitors and employees.
