This year’s event will take place at the Club and have a different feel to it. “Our goal throughout this year has been to make sure everyone – our Club kids, families, and staff – are safe and healthy. Muncie Civic Theatre will present the classic family-friendly musical “The Music Man” at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14 and 15 outdoors at Ball State University’s Arts Terrace. This musical follows fast-talking grifter Harold Hill as he cons the naive townspeople of River City, Iowa, into paying him to start a marching band, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. This $30 event embraces the drawing and painting techniques of 1920’s surrealist artist, Max Ernst. Instructor Chic Elbert-Velazco will lead students through their own process of rubbing from a textured surface to form a basis for their work.
