The Delaware County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (DCEMA) is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing countywide disaster prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation plans. As part of the Indiana General Assembly’s action to create this partnership, Indiana Code 20-23-18-6 changed and defined the appointment process for the seven-member governing body of Muncie Community Schools. City of Muncie Secures Developer for $11.8 Million Redevelopment Project Named ‘City View 2’

The city has reached a deal with developer Miller Valentine Construction, who is calling the development “City View 2.” City View 2 will be an $11.8 million project that will consist almost entirely of single-family workforce housing homes on scattered sites. They will be rental units to begin with, but there will be options to purchase later. Tenants will receive a credit for part of the rent to go toward the purchase price of the home. Muncie Roadway Paving Plan Moving Forward for 2022 and Beyond

The city street department continues to work on its pavement plan for 2022.  The plan covers 63 different projects and represents a dramatic increase in the number of projects to be undertaken. In 2020, Muncie was dealing with a negative $1.9 million balance in the local road and streets account. That balance was addressed in 2020 and 9 streets were still paved.
