MUNCIE, IN — Shafer Leadership Academy is launching AI Leadership Lab: Real Conversations about AI, a new monthly virtual conversation series designed to help professionals better understand and navigate the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence.

The free series will take place monthly from 12:00–1:00 p.m. EST via Zoom and is open to professionals across industries and experience levels.

Rather than traditional presentations or technical lectures, AI Leadership Lab is designed as an interactive conversation space where participants can explore real-world applications of AI, ask questions, and learn collaboratively alongside peers.

“AI is changing how we work, communicate, and lead,” said Eilis Wasserman, co-facilitator of the series. “This series is about creating a welcoming space for curious leaders to engage in honest, practical conversations about what AI means for their teams, organizations, and communities.”

Each session will focus on a different theme connected to leadership, workplace culture, and innovation.

Upcoming sessions include:

  • June 2, 2026 — From Curiosity to Implementation: Leading Adoption, Workflows, and What’s Next
  • July 7, 2026 — Responsible AI for Leaders: Exploring AI Ethics
  • August 4, 2026 — AI in Work & Life: Everyday Uses That Make Work Easier

The series will be co-facilitated by Brad Beumer and Eilis Wasserman.

Beumer currently serves as Director of Innovation at First Merchants Bank, where he leads AI, automation, and transformation initiatives across the organization. Over the course of his career, he has led innovation efforts at companies including Accenture, Microsoft, and UiPath, and holds a patent in AI and robotic process automation.

Wasserman leads program design and facilitation efforts at Shafer Leadership Academy and has played a key role in shaping the organization’s virtual and hybrid learning experiences since 2020.

Participants do not need prior AI experience to attend.

“No prior expertise is required,” said Wasserman. “Just curiosity and a willingness to engage.”

Registration is free and open to the public.
