MUNCIE, IN—Pop Fest is taking over Cornerstone Center for the Arts on Saturday, Oct. 17, bringing guests featured on Indiana Public Radio’s “Pop of Culture” show from the airwaves to the stage.
This arts and culture celebration will include live performances, stand-up comedy, local artists and authors, and more – an opportunity to hang out with the creative people who make East Central Indiana anything but boring!
“Pop Fest brings the expansive arts scene in East Central Indiana into one venue!” said Luke Jones, producer of “Pop of Culture.” You don’t have to pick between local music, local artisans, local comedy, local food and drink, or hearing from local arts leaders—because it’s all happening with one (low-priced!) ticket.
“And yes, it also supports public media as we continue to shine a light on the people who make ECI special.”
Enjoy live performances by Indy folk rock artist Caleb McCoach and Chicago rockers Free Joel (fresh from a set at this year’s Lollapalooza), along with a stand-up comedy showcase hosted by Ray Toffer (of “Beautiful Luxurious Muncie” fame) and featuring Dafina Kirk, who recently performed at “Mother’s Day with Tommy Davidson,” and Jeff Crone, who went from working in public media to comedy.
You can also browse an arts market featuring local artists and authors and watch a LIVE taping of “Pop of Culture,” hosted by “Pop” host, Kara DuQuette. Emcees for the evening will be “Pop” host Michelle Kinsey and Ray Toffer.
Your ticket for the party will include pizza from the Downtown Farm Stand, tasty beverages and one drink ticket for beer (if you are age 21 and or older) from The Guardian Brewing Company. A cash bar will also be available.
Proceeds will benefit the NPR station, located on the campus of Ball State.
Pop Fest is presented by 3Rivers Federal Credit Union and Bob Ross Incorporated, with additional sponsorship from Stallings Wealth Management and Sight & Sound.
Tickets are available at the door or in advance here.
